Last Stop (in India): Delhi

I have to admit that after the Tal Mahal is a little hard to get impressed again! However, we have seen some nice monuments in Delhi… and more shopping!

Jaipur, the pink city

What's interesting about India is that you can have all kind of experience in just one trip! After traveling around, visiting forts and temples, staying in nice hotels, we decided to go to a family's house in Jaipur!

Our stay could not be better, the couple was very friendly and the house was amazing! They have a living room, home theater, 6 rooms and a garden where they grow their own spices, vegetables and fruits...

The next day was a rush! In the morning we visited the Amber Fort, City Palace, Observatory and Palace of Wind. We stopped by a traditional veg restaurant for a late lunch and then some shopping at Fabindia (both suggestions of Sveta, owner of the house)

Jodhpur, the blue city

After a long ride (6 hours by car) we finally arrived in Jodhpur. The city reminded me again of Jamnagar... lots of people on the streets, noise, cows and trash everywhere! Luckily, our hotel was a bit far, in a very calm area with a lot of green around (we even had a pool!)

On the way to Jodhpur we stopped by the temple. It was the most beautiful temple we have seen so far. The construction was all in white marble, very clean and quiet.

The next morning we visited the fort and we could see why Jodhpur is known as the blue city...

Next stop is Jaipur!

First Vacation Day!

Our first stop was in Udaipur, also known as the City of Lakes and Venice of the East!

Arriving in Rajasthan was a completely different experience. Udaipur airport was so quiet and clean, not so many cows on the streets and the city is quite beautiful.

The hotel is also very nice, with big rooms and a fantastic rooftop overlooking all the lake.

In the afternoon we went out for a walk to wait for Nils (Katrin's husband) and at night we met with Malcolm and Peter for dinner. By the way, Rajasthan food is not as spicy as I thought!

Today we visited the City Palace and then did a boat ride to Jag Mandir. We passed by the Lake Palace but only guests are allowed to go there!
Later we went to the Monsoon Palace to watch the sunset!
